Bodegas Olimpia
True to our origins

At Bodegas Olimpia we bring together a passion for vineyards with a painstaking endeavour to uphold the art of viticulture. Three generations bound together in the same life project, building our legacy on the lands of Navarra.

True to our origins, we make our wines with varieties native to each region. In every bottle we strive to keep alive the family tradition that we have received and has become our hallmark.

OUR
WINES

Our wines are a reflection of the work and winemaking knowledge we have inherited. We take tender care of our vineyards and painstakingly select the best of each native variety entirely by hand during our selected harvesting work.

Our oenologist is responsible for achieving excellence in the winemaking process, initiating a delicate journey which ends in our being able to offer the exclusivity so characteristic of Bodegas Olimpia. After the final bottle aging process, we can enjoy some outstanding personal creations of great strength and elegance, and with a great aromatic tonality and range of flavours.

OUR
HISTORY

Passion and love for vineyards, and knowledge of the art of viticulture are our family’s greatest heritage. Three generations which have upkept this family commitment to an idea that is much more than a business project: it is a family legacy, it is our way of life.

Always loyal to the earth and with a fighting, enterprising spirit, we have kept alive the project our grandmother began, initiating a bloodline devoted to viticulture. Our Winery in Navarra, where we were born and grew up, is now joined by a Winery in La Rioja in the prestigious Rioja Alta subzone. This Winery, with its vineyards of Tempranillo grapes, has made the dream of diversifying the family’s winemaking knowledge, positioning itself in the national and international markets with the emblem of this Qualified Designation of Origin and continuing to make authentic local wines a reality.

In tribute to our origins, we have baptised our wineries with the name of our grandmother:  Flavia Olimpia Oficialdegui.

FLAVIA OLIMPIA OFICIALDEGUI
Flavia used to tell us that she was born at noon. Her mother remembered perfectly well because it was a Sunday and she almost went into labour during Mass. It was the 15th of April 1917 when our grandmother Flavia Olimpia Oficialdegui was born in Artajona.

Orphaned at an early age, she had to go to live with her uncle and aunt in Unzué, and then Ibero, with an uncle in the clergy. But she never forgot Artajona, her land, and was lucky enough to find love there: Javier, a farmer from her hometown. They married and had nine children.

Through a great deal of work and effort, they went from farming to having their own winery and a wine shop in Pamplona.

Our grandmother Flavia Olympia, a passionate, enterprising woman with a fighting spirit. A tenacious worker, whose endeavour and vision was the creative force behind an entire legacy, one which remains alive today in the spirit of the family.
